West lake/Xihu is a famous fresh water lake located in the historic center of Hangzhou eastern China. West Lake is not only famous for its picturesque landscape, it is also associated with many scholars, national heroes and revolutionary martyrs, thus embracing many aspects of Chinese culture. In addition, many ancient buildings, stone caves and engraved tablets in surrounding areas are among the most cherished national treasures of China, with significant artistic value. Depart from Los Angeles airport (LAX), we will assit you boarding the flight to Shanghai.

Day 2 | Shanghai ~ Jiashan         
Arriving in Shanghai, China's largest city and one of the world's most important ports. Here, you can see the modern metropolis of the financial district juxtaposed with the older sections of the city. We will meet you at the airport and transfer you to the hotel in Jiashan. After check-in, you have free time to relax or explore.

Day 3 | Jiashan ~ Wuxi      (B, L, D)     
Today our bus will take you to Wuxi. Wuxi is an old city in Jiangsu province, Split into halves by Lake Taihu, Wuxi borders Changzhou to the west and Suzhou to the east. The northern half looks across to Taizhou to the north over the Yangtze River, while the southern half also borders the province of Zhejiang to the south. Wuxi earned its nickname "Pearl of Lake Tai" because it's built on the shore of Lake Tai with beautiful sceneries. Wuxi in a Baiyue word which may mean "god bird". Wuxi China was founded 3,000 years ago by two fugitive princes. We will visit the Liyuan Garden, one of the most famous for its lake scenery in Southern China. You will visit a local pearl farm later today.

Day 4 | Wuxi ~ Suzhou ~ Hangzhou       (B, L, D)  
Travel by coach to Suzhou, Suzhou China is a prefecture-level city on the lower reaches of the Yangtze River and on the shores of Taihu Lake in the province of Jiangsu, China. The city is renowned for its stone bridges, pagodas, and meticulously designed gardens which have contributed to its status as a great tourist attraction. Next is a visit to a time honored silk weaving workshop, where you can learn the secret about silk making, a specialty in local area for thousand years. Hangzhou is praised along with Suzhou as an “earthly paradise”. The city of Hangzhou was founded about 2,200 years ago during the Qin Dynasty, but the city wall was not constructed until the Sui Dynasty (591). It is listed as one of the Seven Ancient Capitals of China.
You will take a boat trip on world famous " West Lake". Then, you will visit the Qing He Old Town. Later, Our bus will drive to Shanghai to catch a flight to Beijing - China’s former imperial capital whose rich history dates back more than 3,000 years.

This morning visit the enormous Tiananmen Square, which can accommodate over 1,000,000 people. Then, tour Beijing’s Forbidden City, a UNESCO World Heritage Site; made up of nearly 800 buildings, it is the world’s largest surviving palace complex. Walk its grounds among the opulent palaces, pavilions, courtyards and imperial gardens within the 26-foot-high walls.
After lunch in a local restaurant, see the Summer Palace, a 700-acre complex of elegant buildings and gardens (complete with manmade Kunming Lake) frequented by the Imperial Court when they wanted to escape the bustle of Beijing. Tonight, taste some local specialties at dinner.

After breakfast, travel to the Badaling Hills. There, you behold one of the most impressive and best-preserved sections of the Great Wall of China—a 4,000-mile-long series of sandstone and earthwork fortifications built and maintained between the 5th century B.C. and the 16th century A.D. that is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Explore its winding pathways and marvel at the panoramic views from its ramparts.

After a lunch of local specialties, visit the Sacred Way, a tree-lined avenue guarded by massive sculptures of elephants, lions and camels leading to the Ming Dynasty tombs. This evening, relax and dine at your hotel—or, enjoy an optional evening featuring China’s famous Peking duck and a recital by Peking Opera performers. Tonight’s special dinner will give you a real taste of Peking Duck.

Fly to Shanghai China. And, see Old Shanghai and travel along the elegant Bund, stopping to admire some of its historic buildings and city views. After lunch in a local restaurant, visit a silk carpet workshop for a demonstration. Then tour the Shanghai Museum, featuring displays of ceramics, bronzes, calligraphy and paintings. Visit a silk embroidery factory to see a demonstration of this delicate art. After lunch, we spend some time at the exquisite Yuyuan Garden, dating back to the Ming Dynasty. Enjoy dinner at a local restaurant before the world-famous Shanghai Acrobatic Troupe show from the best seats in the house.
