Start our city tour at Nanjing Road, ground zero for shoppers and entertainment seekers. Move on to the splendid City God Temple Bazaar, and then continue on to the famous waterfront Bund, a mile long stretch along the Huangpu River. After lunch, visit the world famous Shanghai Museum (No audio service).

Journey to Mt. Huangshan by high speed rail. Upon arrival the coach takes us to Hongcun*, an ancient traditional village with well preserved paved streets, architecture, decorations, and houses with comprehensive water systems. Overnight at Hongcun.

We depart Hongcun in the early morning for Huangshan. Once arrive a cable car ride* takes us up to the midway of Mt. Huangshan for a sightseeing tour of the areas. Mt. Huangshan* is extolled for its “Four Ultimate Beauties” – unusual rock formations, pine trees, sea of clouds and hot springs.

Known in China as “The Number One Mountain Under Heaven”, Mt. Huangshan was listed by UNESCO as an official World Cultural Heritage Site in 1990. This morning we get up early to enjoy the fantastic view of sunrise amidst a sea of clouds in the summits. Then continue our unfinished sightseeing of Huangshan before descending the mountain and return to Tunxi later in the afternoon. Our tour of Tunxi will show us the famed Tunxi Ancient Street. For dinner, a Local Specialty Cuisine will be served.

To top off our tour in Huangshan, we visit the China Huizhou Culture Museum*. And then depart for Jingdezhen, a 1700-year-old capital of porcelain making industry, via the most beautiful village of China – Wuyuan. This evening we enjoy the Jiangxi local specialty cuisine for dinner.

The city tour of Jingdezhen features visits to the Porcelain Museum* and the Ceramic Factory*. Continue to Wuhan by the high-speed rail. Upon arrival at Wuhan, we explore the popular Yellow Crane Tower* and the famous Bells Museum*. Tonight, enjoy the Fish Dinner Feast.

Depart Wuhan for Maoping, the site where our ship is docked and awaiting us. Upon our arrival at Maoping,
we board our Victoria Cruise ship. We set sail in the evening for our exciting Yangtze River adventure. Nearly 4000 miles long, the mighty Yangtze River is the world’s third longest river and flows eastward into the East China Sea.

Spend the morning viewing the construction of the Three Gorges Dam, the largest in the world. Later sail through Xiling Gorge, the longest (41 miles), and the deepest of the Three Gorges.

Depending on the river conditions, our shore excursion is either along Shennong Stream or Goddess Stream to explore Small Gorges. Board smaller vessels to access this tributary of the Yangtze. Return to the ship and enjoy as the vessel passes through the narrow meandering passages of the Wu Gorge and Qutang Gorge.

Today, our shore excursion will take us to Jade Emperor Scenic Area near Fengdu. The sacred site lies on the northern side of the Yangtze, west of Mingshan Mountain and east of the Shuangguishan National Forest. It features a 100-foot-tall statue depicting the Jade Emperor, an important deity in Chinese Taoism, as well as more than 200 additional Taoist and Buddhist sculptures. Alternatively depending on river condition visit Shibaozhai, a famous 12-story tall wooden pagoda. . Descend the mountain and return back to our cruise ship as it continues along the Yangtze.

Our Yangtze River Cruise comes to an end with the arrival at Chongqing. Disembark the cruise, a brief city tour takes us to the Chongqing Zoo* for the adorable panda bears. For lunch we enjoy a local Spicy Hot Pot Cuisine. Later, leave for Beijing by air and upon arrival transfer to the hotel. The rest of the day is free at leisure.

All too soon, our China adventure has come to an end. Fly back to the US with memories to last a lifetime.
